Recycling Business

Is your business looking for an efficient way to get your recyclables picked up? Is finding the space for your bins a concern?

We can make your business recycling easy! Contact ZeroWaste@sfcc.org for business inquiries!

SFCC’s Recycling Team offers recycling services for small, medium and large businesses throughout San Francisco. We set up a recycling schedule that works for you, we collect your recyclables, and we replace your bins consistently so they stay clean.

Our recycling crews are SFCC Corpsmembers – hard working young adults getting job training. They collect and sort your recycling, and offer advice on how to recycle more of your waste, more efficiently.

Our Recycling Outreach Team offers recycling services for businesses and large public events throughout San Francisco. In just the past 12 months, Corpsmembers have:

Provided recycling services at more than 280 events and large scale festivals with tens of thousands of attendees.

Diverted 212 tons of recyclables from our landfills, including 1,127 tons of compostables

Corpsmembers on three recycling crews work with their supervisors to run most aspects of our recycling business, learning valuable work skills and conservation techniques while they are on the job. They:

  • Collect recycling on routes throughout the city

  • Sort recyclables

  • Drop off and sell recyclables

  • Educate San Francisco businesses, non-profits and special event producers and attendees about best recycling practices

We collect:

  • Aluminum and steel cans

  • Glass beverage containers

  • Plastic bottles, cans, tubs and lids (#1, #2, #4, #5)

  • Paper

  • Newspaper

  • Cardboard

Zero Waste Facilitation

San Francisco Conservation Corps is a Zero Waste Facilitator designated by the San Francisco Department of the Environment. By hiring us as Zero Waste Facilitators, we can help property managers in San Francisco to maintain compliance with the City’s Mandatory Composting and Recycling Ordinance and lower refuse costs. We can assist both commercial and residential properties with material recovery by providing education and feedback to tenants and staff to improve participation, improving collection efficiency, and reducing contamination in composting or recycling by conducting back-of-house sorting of materials.

Recycling Force

Just in the past year, SFCC has diverted over 212 tons of recyclables from landfills, helping San Francisco work towards the cities goal to be the greenest city in the nation.
