Natural Resources Coordinator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Natural Resources Manager, the Natural Resources Coordinator (NR Coordinator) serves as the primary support staff responsible for the implementation of assigned Natural Resources projects. The NR Coordinator is responsible for managing project reporting data, leading project-related training, and daily staffing of Natural Resources field staff (i.e., Crew Supervisors) and Corpsmembers. In addition, the NR Coordinator actively supports the Natural Resources Manager in project sponsor communications. A successful NR Coordinator is also able to work collaboratively with other SFCC departments to implement company-wide policies and Corpsmember programs. Other duties may be assigned.
Project Implementation Support:
Ensure Natural Resources project crews are staffed and dispatched to project sites on time and with appropriate safety and project equipment
Work with the Operations Coordinator to ensure all required project supplies and materials are purchased and readily available on time
Compile and manage project data and prepare regular status and compliance reports per contracts
Support in the preparation of Corpsmember timesheets for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
Support Natural Resources Manager in tracking project budgets, schedules, and deliverables per project contracts
Support Natural Resources Manager in preparing for and facilitating Partner meetings
Maintain a clear understanding of all current agreements and grants within the program and the projected outcomes of those grants.
Company Program and Policy Implementation:
Help implement Field Operations Safety Program, which includes Corpsmember safety-focused training, first aid and vehicle safety supplies, and facility safety issues.
ensure the Field Operations team and Corpsmembers follow all company-wide policies and procedures
Coordinate with the Corpsmember Development team to implement Corpsmember programs and company-wide events
Support Corpsmember recruitment, disciplinary enforcement, accounting, and other business systems/processes Grants Discovery & Management
Support grants discovery, development of project goals, objectives, and new projects applicable to the field program the following qualifications are strongly preferred:
Experience in a related field, especially focused on natural resources management, landscaping, horticulture, recycling or other equivalent experience preferred
Understanding of recycling, waste management, and/or conservation preferred
Experience in the operation of trucks and trailers preferred
Knowledge of hand and power tools preferred
Grants Discovery & Management
Support grants discovery, development of project goals, objectives, and new projects applicable to the field program

Education and Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities qualifies. Typical avenues of obtaining the appropriate knowledge and abilities for this position are as follows:
At least two years of college education or equivalent work experience in natural resource management, environmental studies, job training, or counseling.
Experience in youth development, project management, or the implementation of natural resource projects
Experience supervising youth from a wide variety of social, economic, and educational.
Background
Experience serving and volunteering in the community.
Desire and ability to work in a fast‐paced and diverse environment.
At least two years of project experience in a supervisory capacity – required.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff to work collaboratively – required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and databases – required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – required.
Effective conflict resolution skills – required.
Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of hire – required.
Clean DMV record, with the ability to earn a California Class B driver’s license – required.

Other situations include sitting at a desk while using a computer and in meetings; driving or riding in a flatbed truck for long periods; intermittently twisting to reach equipment surrounding thedesk and climbing aladder to a flatbed truck.

Organization Summary
San Francisco Conservation Corps (SFCC) provides professional job training and educational development opportunities for individuals 18‐26 years of age through a variety of environmentally focused, community service‐based programs. In coordination with job training and educational attainment, SFCC offers wrap-around services, such as housing assistance and mental health and wellness referrals, aimed at reducing social and financial barriers, and uplifting low‐income and disadvantaged communities in San Francisco. SFCC focuses on two job‐training pathways: natural resources management and zero waste. Natural resources management projects include habitat restoration, fire fuel reduction, plant care and farming, landscaping maintenance, and trail building. Zero Waste projects include the collection of and education around recycling beverage containers, e‐waste, waste tires, and used oil.
