I'm delighted to
be serving as
the Chair of the
Board of the San
Francisco
Conservation
Corps.
The SFCC, I
believe, is the
most important
program dealing
with youth at
risk in San
Francisco. It's
the only program
I know that is
providing job
training skills
directly to the
participants and
providing
educational
opportunities.
During the past
12 months alone,
Corpsmembers
have greatly
increased the
diversion of
recyclables from
landfills,
created gardens
and playgrounds
in numerous
parks and public
spaces, and
participated in
literally
thousands of
hours of
education.
I want to thank
all of our
supporters, as
well as our
supporters over
the last 27
years, and I
look forward to
the Corps'
continued growth
and success in
the years to
come.
